I joined rabbit as a part-time product designer back in May 2022 and returned full-time as a product designer after I graduate from ArtCenter College of Design. I've been involved in this long-term mission of redefining the way people interact with technology, and I'm fortunate enough to spearhead several self-sustaining projects in alignment with the goal, for instance, rabbit OS. Though some early features are released, I regret that I won't be able to demonstrate them step-by-step in this blog. However, I'm happy to share some of my thought process behind the scene.

As the only female asian designer, I recognize the importance of representation and diversity. It's a role I embrace wholeheartedly, striving to bring unique perspectives and insights to the table while also championing inclusivity and equality in our workplace culture. And I am fortunate enough to have been fully involved in the product design process of rabbit OS from scratch, taking ownership in developing and refining specific design scenarios.

In my time at rabbit, I've learned that innovation stems from the intension to design and a relentless pursuit of excellence. I'm grateful to be part of such a dynamic and forward-thinking team, and I'm excited to continue pushing the boundaries of possibility.

Outcome & Impact

Explored the process of structuring a startup idea and system. Did in-depth research in ETF, fintech, and finance industries. Deepened my understanding of accounting, finance, and valuations.
Integrated skills from various disciplines within the business minor and also from a design perspective. Applied financial concepts to assess the viability of a startup idea and leveraged accounting principles to make informed decisions.
Recognized the dynamic nature of the industries studied. Established awareness of continuous learning and adaptability. Built connections with professionals, mentors, and industry experts.

Crafting an AI-powered interface demands a comprehensive understanding of not just the technology itself, but also the nuanced intricacies of human interaction. At the core of my approach to product design at rabbit lies a philosophy deeply rooted in engagement, joy, and inspiration. I firmly believe that seamless and natural interactions should not only fulfill the functional requirements that AI agents bring but also elevate the emotional experience for users.

The process of creating a conversation-oriented user interface system commences with in-depth research, flow development, postural studies of the form factor, and exploration of art direction. By understanding how various platforms and services influence user interactions and shape their mental models, our team collaborates closely to craft a scalable design system that transcends the limitations of traditional app-based systems.

Consistency is paramount in building a strong brand identity. From aligning graphical components across r1, websites, and marketing materials to maintaining the timeless, retro-looking Scandinavian characteristics within the brand, part of my job is to ensure that every detail is thoughtfully curated to construct a cohesive experience.
